Cutting projects bigger than the cricut cutting mat can be done but it will take some manipulation of the design in the cricut design space i wrote a post all about it that you can check out for an in depth tutorial how to cut larger than the mat in cricut design space.
Cutting larger than cricut mat.
Large mat maximum is 11 5 x 23 75 in.
Small mat maximum is 11 5 x 11 5 in.
Print then cut maximum is 6 75 x 9 25 in.
If you are using a 12 12 mat size the square to 11 5 11 5 the largest you can cut on this mat.
If you will be using the larger mat size the square to 11 5 23 5.
You will have the option to continue with a.
Keep in mind that the cricut won t cut to the entire dimensions of the mat so if you have a 12 x12 mat you will not be able resize the square beyond 11 5 x11 5 and for the 12 x24 mat 11 5 x23 5.
I highly recommend getting a membership.
To design this cut file i used two cricut fonts emiline and cricut stretch.
Both of these were free for me to use since i have a cricut access membership.
It s an amazing deal.
So for any project larger than the dimensions above you will need to use a hack to actually make the project.

If you want to make something larger than the large mat you can use a process known as tiling i ve seen people use this technique to make large car and wall decals big wood signs and enormous paper projects.
If either the height or width of an image is greater than 11 5 29 cm when you select make it you will receive an alert that one of your images is too large for a 12 x 12 30 5 cm x 30 5 cm mat.
Get a design you can scale up and prepare it for cutting.
